What this site is

SleepCycleFinder is a free, advertising-supported reference site about sleep health. The core of the site is a sleep cycle calculator that helps you choose a bedtime or wake time aligned with the roughly 90-minute sleep cycles most adults experience. Around that calculator, we publish in-depth articles on the topics readers most often ask about: sleep science, sleep cycles, sleep hygiene, sleep environment, sleep disorders, and how sleep interacts with age, pregnancy, shift work, travel, exercise, nutrition, mental health, and productivity.

Who we serve

The site is written for general adult readers who want practical, plain-language information about how sleep works and how to improve theirs. We do not write for clinicians, and we do not aim to replace a clinical consultation. If you are searching online to make sense of your own sleep — or to make small, evidence-aware adjustments to your routine — that is the reader we have in mind.

How our content is produced

Each article is written and reviewed in-house by the SleepCycleFinder editorial team. We do not commission individual freelance authors and we do not publish guest posts. When an article describes a finding from sleep research, we phrase it generally rather than attributing specific quotations to named researchers, unless those quotations come from a verifiable public source. Our editorial approach is summarised by three rules:

  • Plain language first. Where a technical term matters (REM, slow-wave sleep, circadian rhythm), we define it in context. Where it does not, we leave it out.
  • General-audience guidance. Articles describe patterns and approaches that apply broadly. They do not diagnose individual conditions or prescribe treatment.
  • Conservative claims. If the underlying research is mixed, our wording is mixed too. We avoid headline numbers presented as certainties.

What we do not do

We do not invent statistics, fabricate testimonials, or create fictional experts. Pages that describe practical strategies (for example, on naps, jet lag, or sleep environment) draw on widely accepted public-health and sleep-medicine guidance. Where a claim is contested or unsettled, we say so.

We are not a substitute for medical advice. If you are experiencing persistent insomnia, suspected sleep apnea, severe daytime sleepiness, or any sleep problem that is interfering with your daily life, please speak with a qualified healthcare professional. See our disclaimer for more on this.

How the site is funded

SleepCycleFinder is supported by display advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. Advertising allows the calculator and the article library to remain free. We do not currently sell products, run an affiliate store, or charge a subscription. The presence of advertising does not influence our editorial choices: ad slots are reserved at the template level, not negotiated per-article.

Updates and corrections

Articles are reviewed periodically and updated when the underlying guidance shifts or when readers point out something we got wrong. Each substantive page carries a “Last reviewed” date close to the top so you can see how recent the most recent review was. To suggest a correction, see the contact page.

Get in touch

For questions, corrections, or general feedback, email [email protected] or visit the contact page. We aim to reply within three business days.
